He was the only other person going for flips out in SF and generally just charging. He totaled one frame on a backflipper attmept, knocked himself out on a rail hop and still had the chance to toss in a sick acid drop from the judges booth. His spill had everyone cringing and hoping for the best…like a true champ he made came back to watch the event after being taken out on a stretcher. Was way psyched he wasn’t seriously injured! Such a boss. Destroying.

Antonyo was the first dude I snagged anything of considering he started throwing down as soon as practice began. The sub saw a lot of action this year with some sick stalls being thrown at it. Antonyo was one of my favorites to watch bringing some sick and techy hits to the event. There’s more after the jump so check ‘em…
Red Bull Ride N’ Style: Fixed Freestyle Results.

Don’t get me wrong…I had a blast riding last year and it Ride N’ Style was something of the like we’d never seen…but this year they took the event to the next level. The freestyle course was designed to be sicker and help riders bring the heat when it came to throwing some sick stuff down. Everybody rode so good and hit so much of the course I’m sure the judges had a hayday trying to figure out who would be on top. In the end the top three dudes below showed up and killed it just a little but more despite everyone riding on point all day. Highlights? Boothby’s backflips, Kenny getting bucked and luckily not being seriously injured (came back to the event after being knocked out…similar to Gus last year. Can’t stop love for the game!), Joe’s 720 and plenty of creativity from everyone else! Here’s a bit of the winners…more shots of everyone to come!
First Place: I was hanging with Josh Boothby the night before the event and he had a lot to say about the state of fixed freestyle and where it can go. He really wants to see the legitimacy of the sport be solidified and see the limits pushed. You can bet Josh is one of the dudes that will make this happen. Right out of the gate you could tell Josh was going for the gusto. Throwing backflips in PRACTICE and then in every run he had plus a slew of things most riders aren’t tossing out there yet. I’ll have more flicks of JB this week but here’s one of him getting upside down.
Everyone was trying to get the best shot of this…I really wanted to grab a shot that showed exactly that. Backflip media frenzy.
Second Place: One of the most dedicated and focused dudes on the scene right now is undoubtedly Tyler Johnson. He’s been on his grind getting tricks dialed and pumping out videos. Dude’s really a machine when it comes to riding. He brought some sick style and creativity to SF coming up with a well deserved second place.
Third Place: One person that can slide onto the podium doing nothing more than sitting on the couch is Joe Mckeag. He’s at the top of the style game and spinning more than anyone else. Seriously some of the best bike control you will ever seen and Joe makes it look far easier than it is. He killed it last year. He killed it this year. Props for the top fish dude!

I don’t even know where to start recapping the freestyle showdown. This shit was intense. Sick stuff was landed. Everyone was stoked. I took about 300 photos of everyone because I was so juiced to be running around shooting instead of riding this year. Just ait for the sets to come this week. I’m stoked.
Red Bull Ride N’ Style: Track Results.

I took more photos than I ever have at any event, I’m sun burnt, exhausted but so stoked to have been able to meet up with friends and see the sickest fixed gear event ever. I’m going to start off with a couple of results posts before I jump into posting flicks of all the riders. Here’s the track racing results with a few flicks from the race!
First Place: Addison Zawada. This kid is ridiculously fast! Having already take five Minidrome events, including the SF event last Thursday, he was no doubt the rider to watch. Every race this Addison went into he charged the course and came out on top. Pretty sure he even bailed in one run around and still came back to the finish first. Walton Brush certainly gave him a run for his money but in the end Addison pushed hard and took the win.
Second Place: If you’ve been riding fixed for a decent amount of time chances are you know both of the next two dudes. Coming in second place after taking a spill in the finals is Mash‘s Walton Brush. Dude wins all kinds of races and has been in the game for a while…no surprise he just barely missed first!
Third Place: Another quick one was Hernan Montenegro. A long time fixture in the bike scene riding all sorts of things. Sadly I can’t find any flicks in what I have though I’m sure I took some. I’m going to look again and hopefully I just skipped some!
All in all the races were way exciting to watch with a ton of people taking spills, charging the course and even running across the finish line haha. Ill have some more flicks up of all the riders this week!

We have NAHBS every year to check out awesome craftsmanship from the countries handmade bicycle builders. When is there a chance to meet up and cruise around with the dudes behind the bikes? Well now you can hit the trails or the streets with some solid builders doing what they love on the Meet Your Maker Tour. I plan on making it to one of the road events of this as it would have to be pretty sweet. This first one up is presented in part by Soulcraft which is how this ended up in my email. May 26th…get some MTB time in in Santa Rosa. Bound to be a good time.

WHERE THE HELL IS WALDO is an all city “Alley Kat Style” Scavenger hunt race. Cyclist are given an address and clues of where to find Waldo (real person or wheat paste) at key landmarks through out the city. No route, however you get there is up to your knowledge of the city. This year, in honor of our 3 year anniversary, we will be hosting the WHIS3 in Brooklyn NY, Los Angeles CA, and San Antonio, TX on the same day!!!
After parties are TBA, but request to host have already been put in our ear. As you know we like to ride hard and play hard so lets have fun!!!!!

With his super smooth style and crazy bike control he rode the course like a beast. Matt probably has the best tuck no handers in the game plus a bag of other tricks some people can’t even pull. His threes were dialed and his used of some of the obstacles way different than everyone else. I really dug his nosie across the quarter on the wallride set up. All his runs were way sick!

I mean…hanging from the rafters of a skatepark with a broken wrist to drop into pretty damn steep bank is pretty is crazy. Crazy sick that is. Mike always brings something super off the wall and way dope to competitions. This year at Ride N’ Style he went all out pretty much hopping into the judges booth. Everyone, Jakob included, had some super dope wallrides and grinds but it was Santos 180 out of the course that I thought was way sick. Not too many people trying to fly out into the crowd this year but Jakob made it look easy.

After rocking a Chrome Metropolis while working for almost a year I decided I need to mix things up a bit again. While perusing the Chrome store I came across the Warsaw Pro and was instantly smitten. These things have been around for a bit but I’m beyond stoked on this backpack. Until now I hadn’t heard of them but it appears they make some damn nice hand made bags and accessories. These bar bags would be perfect for touring or maybe even trail rides if you’re tossing them on something classy. I’m definitely into them. Solid looking canvas with leather accents all made by hand!
