From unboxing the Blackburn Grid 13 multitool I knew it wouldn’t be leaving my bag. The key here is layout which makes things less clunky and each tool that much easier to use. Toss in a wide selection of wrenches, drivers and the obligatory bottle opener and the Grid is perfect tagging along for the ride. Click through for a closer look and a few words on this little guy…

My favorites on the Grid 13 are the l bend 4mm (and smaller) wrenches and spreader/spoke/bottle opener. Where most tools go with straight allens, each if the small keys are far more compact and ergonomic with the bend. While a bottle opener and spoke wrench are commin on multitools this was my first time having a disc spreader. Cyclocross is more popular than ever so I surely appreciated disc spreader for tuning my mechanical disc brakes.

Not much to say here as this little guy really delivers on the go. One thing I noticed missing comparing the Grid to similar tools was a chain breaker. Honestly I prefer using an actual chain tool when swapping links or fixing a chain so for me this wouldn’t be a deal “breaker”! Otherwise just about anything you need in a pinch is right there at your fingertips.

The Grid 13 is a straightforward mini tool that’s well worth taking on the trails or on a day in the saddle. Whether you’re looking for a torx, a saddle adjustment or a cold brew this thing has you covered!
