With a long weekend we decided some deep puddles and a steady onslaught of rain were more than overdue. As we work on the new direction of the site rides like these are crucial to narrowing things down. They also serve for a great day out ripping up some mud and water…

Tracklocross has been big this season and this edit from Mud Max is easily the most “interesting” take on coverage. Safe to say the Italian fixed scene knows how to have fun…

Adam Seavers and I just threw one of the best Tracklocross races to ever come to Sacramento. Such a great turnout for just a race scrapped together by a couple of kids trying to get their fixed gear community doing a bit more than just riding around spot to spot drinking and doing fixie tricks. (Even though we love fixie tricks)

Tracklomento consisted of a quarter mile dirt trail alongside the American river just right behind the Blue Diamond Almond factory. 10 Laps, 18 riders and a ton of shredding to beheld.  Besides all the fun dirt trails and puddles the racers had to bomb through on Track bikes, they also had to maneuver around a gnarly hobo camp towards the end of the course. After awhile the hobos weren’t too happy with us but by then the race was all finished up.

Our winners were: 1st Jean Padilla (TCB Courier), 2nd James Newman (Macaframa), and 3rd Jonathan Jones! It was a vicious battle between Jean and James, as James was first to shoot right through the hole shot and create a huge gap. According to the racers there was a huge crash that held back many competitors and pushed james newman even further away from the pack. The breakaway was held for majority of the race by James, but Jean didn’t let the distance break his focus of winning. Watching Jean hunt down James was marvelous sight as if i was watching a ferocious lion hunting its prey.

Squeezed in some late afternoon dirtin’ with Angel yesterday before getting back into the groove of the week. With miles on miles of single track Folsom Lake is easily my favorite place to get the cross bike dirty. This is one of the few shots Angel managed to grab yesterday and though this isn’t an official introduction for him you can expect to see much more from him on here soon!

November 30th

Plenty of solid people coming together for what will be the first track race of its kind here in Sacramento. Tracklomento is just weeks away hitting the dirt December 10th for a day of fixed cyclocross racing. Some primo prizes up for grabs in what will be a great day of racing no matter where you finish. Pop over to the instagram and event page to get the rundown!

All-City adds yet another fine dirt machine to their lineup with the updated Space Horse Disc. Adding disc brakes for maximum stoppage in any weather and a more fitting 650b geo on smaller sizes this thing rips better than ever. These will be hitting dealers next month but in the meantime you can peep all the details here!

With cross season just around the corner I was beyond stoked when local heroes Squid Bikes offered up one of their Rattlecan rigs to give a go. Albeit a demo ride, this second version of their popular CX frame came built up with Force Hydro and a fine set of shoes by way of Portland’s Hi-Fi wheels. I’ve only had it about a week but with it’s glossy Spray.Bike finish and how well it eats dirt I’m already loving it. Much more on the way after spending some more time with it!

The Bros at Brother Cycles recently got things in order for their Spring/Summer 2016 gear. Adding a few new frames and a handful of accessories this just might be their best collection yet. The Kepler Disc and Swift are looking dialed thought its the new R725 that really caught my eye. Always a soft spot for lugged frames and the pearlescent/sparkle paint options pop in the spring sun. Roll over to see the new bag of goodies and peep their  ’16 catalog here!

With a mix of indoor and outdoor riding the 2016 SSCX Euro Champs looked nothing short of exciting. Laps, beers and plenty of smiling faces in this recap from the Bombtrack crew. That bike pile at the start definitely looked a bit tricky to navigate…

February 25th

Bombtrack teamed up with a slew of fine brand this year for a custom Arise CX build in conjunction with Berlin Bicycle Week. The trade show is host to the Singlespeed Cyclocross European Champs and this bad boy will be on display to commemorate the event. From the Rotor drivetrain to the FFWD and Wound Up carbon this thing is beyond dialed. Click through for a nice gallery and hit Bombtrack for more!
