I’ve always been a sucker for seeing “the process” of things and for that this peep into the Kinfolk garage is perfect. Watch as lead builder Osamu Fukuda takes you through what goes into his builds with some nice dialogue to back it up. Definitely did his message behind creating as it’s is always “better to charge the hard route for better results”. More on the Kinfolk spot!
Road Runner seems to be on a bit of a roll lately and the “Small Anything” pack is their latest. Adding to the Anything line this little guy is perfect for the more petite ladies and gents. Handmade in LA they’ve been for year so you know this is a hell of a bag…check ‘em here!
Im always into fabrication videos…especially when its from someone like Faggin. A couple of the couriers here in Sac have rocked some road bikes from Massimo and thy were niceee. I’d be down to build some rad bikes rocking a dope Cosby sweater. Living the dream.
This is actually a collaborative event between a bunch of Northern California hand bike builders and is such a cool idea! We have NAHBS every year to check out awesome craftsmanship from the countries handmade bicycle builders. When is there a chance to meet up and cruise around with the dudes behind the bikes? Well now you can hit the trails or the streets with some solid builders doing what they love on the Meet Your Maker Tour. I plan on making it to one of the road events of this as it would have to be pretty sweet. This first one up is presented in part by Soulcraft which is how this ended up in my email. May 26th…get some MTB time in in Santa Rosa. Bound to be a good time.
Naturally I had to migrate over to Burro once I got to NAHBS this year. Being that they were the only “fixed freestyle” associated brand there for the most part I needed to see what their setup looked like. There was a nice collection of their bags and straps on display in once of the coolest little layouts. Seriously some of the closest attention to detail at the whole show…bones, candles, sacks and crates. It all looked so proper! They had essentially anything you need as far as bags. Hip pouches, messenger bags, backpacks, rucksacks. It was all there for you to drool over. Really might have to nab me one of those beer holsters! Haha. There’s a bunch more flicks below so click through then head to Burro’s spot to grab some gear!
Soulcraft and Una Pizza Napoletana are getting together for this awesome hand made bike and pizza event. If you think about it there really is a slew of frame builders in the northern California area that deserve an event like this…to get together to hang out and be recognized for the work they do! You can bet ill be getting to this next month…if anyone in the area wants to head out im sure ill be driving a few peeps in my car…
…if youre unsure of what happens at Soulcraft peep the video i posted up a bit ago below: Read More….
Such a good piece on Petaluma based Soulcraft. This is how a quality handmade bicycle is made. Granted a complete bike from them is $4000 plus…they do look rather swell. Its a bit of a long video but well worth it if you’ve never seen the build precess for a bike. The finished product is a beauty!
In case you wanted to see inside a nice frame building workshop…peep it. Ricky at feather does some solid looking work. Take a look the stuff on the Feather blog, im into the stem work and the brake routing he does, nice lines. Pulled this from Fixed Gear Leeds.
