About 8 months ago I got this Eighthinch Manifest rolling on the road. It quickly became my daily using it for my messenger job during the day and getting around town after hours. Overall I was pretty impressed with the bikes ride even if built up with affordable Eighthinch parts. Peep a little review and some photos of my Manifest after the click. Starting something a bit more serious so this will likely become a basket bike for the rainy days…more after I change it up a bit.
LOOKS: Out of the box the Manifest looks a bit nicer than other “budget” fixed frames on the market. The welds are a okay and the gloss paint is durable. After a good amount of time in the rain and more lockups than I could count the frame is still chip free. After months of being used as a daily work bike only surface scratches from wear and tear can be seen. Quite a few people mentioned the seat tube taper that resembles something of a Visp. Agree that it looks a bit off but still like the overall look once built.
Well this is going to be a pretty cool event from the homies at Eighthinch. Their annual Wheel and Sprocket sale is coming up and this year they decided to step up there game and create a rad experience for you. Super cheap deals on completes and conversions plus you can test ride anything they have out there. If you feel like taking it back a bit you can school some peeps on Goldeneye or Mario Cart in the N64 lounge. That alone is sick enough haha. Hit their blog for more!
Had a mellow Sunday this past weekend cruising the trail and stopping to check stuff out along the way. First day out on the trail riding my Manifest and th bike felt good the whole trip. The girl and I got a good 30+ miles in and stopped at this spot just before Sundown. I’ve ridden the American River trail more times that I could possibly count but for some reason have never stopped at these cliffs along the river. Pretty rad spot so I snapped this flick the ride while some birds lost their shit in the background.
I recently got one of the new Eighthinch Manifests to putt around and I’m stoked. Haven’t had a track bike for some time now so I was more than willing to review one of these and stoked to be using is for a little project with Revolights. Obviously I need to get some pedals and straps before I’m good to go…just wanted to share some flicks asap. I’ll do a whole bike check once everything is dialed and I’ll have a little review up after I spend some solid time on the bike. After cruising around on it at work a couple days I’m diggin’ it alreadyyy. Gallery after the jump!
This weekend was pretty brutal but I got some shit done for sure. Eighthinch Manifest photos will be up tomorrow…build came out pretty cleannn. Detail shots on the way. Suck Me.
This post is sort of a mix of things but mostly to tell you that you can swoop some Revolights right now for $199. The dudes are having a Valentines sale on their cutting edge lights and dropped the price till sunday. This means they love you. Press release below for that after the click.
Though a lot of my time riding my FGFS bike I do have a few others in the stable. My track bike is going to be a little brighter when I take out at night. I’m going to be making a trip to the Revolights HQ in the coming week or so to have them set up some lights on that new EI Manifest. Ill be cruising around on both for a bit to do a review and see how things hold up. Also going to grab a couple of the homies to make a little day trip video featuring the lights. This is going to be a rad project…stoked to get rolling on both.
Eighthinch is on top of things this week and already has complete Manifests up for grabs. I posted a couple of the ones I like below that I liked but hit up the Manifest page for the deets. These start at $550 complete which is a pretty solid deal. I thought the two below came out real nice.
Remember these that went up Monday? Well the Manifest is now in stock over at Eighthinch. They shipped out all their preorders already so if you’re looking for a solid yet affordable track frameset you can get one of these right meow. They’ll be releasing some custom build options here soon so you can grab a complete bike as well. Hit up the Manifest page for more deets.
These new frames from Eighthinch have been in the works for some time now. When putting together a little track package like this for a price this low its going to take time. With the Manifest you get a frameset, headset, seatpost and seat clamp for just under three hundo. Peep more photos and hit the preorder!
