State Bicycle Off-road Division.

Posted by: kris

State has been hard at work curating their new Off-road Division and it’s nothing short of awesome. Branching out from their track roots just a bit their new cyclocross and fat rigs are bound to help you get down and dirty. Of the four new models the Thunderbird is easily my favorite though the Megalith fatty looks like it could be a hell of a ride. Peep the whole line here and check back for some test ride photos once I get my mitts on one!

Cool mix from the Japan crew Froots with a little of everything. Headed out to ride but this is worth the peep.

”Urban Fixed DH” – Latvia, Grizinkalns.

Never even heard about this but holy hell this looks like it could be fun. Lots of FGFS bikes and some track bikes heading down a muddy course of stairs, hairpins and long straight aways. I would definitely be into racing one of these!

On Location: Sea Otter Classic.

Posted by: kris

Was down in Monterey over the weekend for the Sea Otter Classic. Doesn’t get much better than bikes and camping so it was for sure a good time hanging with the Destroy dudes. Despite the MTB focus of the event there were some fixed/urban cycling vendors with some cool stuff on display. Spotted Plant X who had some newer carbon track setups, Phil Wood with the usual mix of hubs/cogs and the god dudes of Fyxation. A few photos from the weekend after the click…

MTB Trippin’.

Posted by: kris

My good friends Rad (yes, that is is birth name) asked me to tag along this weekend for some MTB trail riding. Aside from riding my FGFS bike on the relatively flat river trails here in Sacramento it a whole new animal for me. I realized two things while cruising the hill of Hidden Falls this past Sunday. 1) Climbing is a pain in the ass. 2) Mountain bikes are fun. Not running out to buy one anytime soon but hell I wouldn’t mind having one!

Konga 29er.

Posted by: kris

This thing is so rad. Handmade fixed 29er from Konga looks like it can do some work on the trails. There’s a pretty extensive gallery on his flickr along with a bunch of other cool stuff he’s made out of Finland. Dig his clean designs for sure.

MTB: TurtleBikes HappyFace Ep.3.

Posted by: kris

Leif-ole Holmen Knutsen sent this fun one through to the lockedcog facebook over the weekend. Some sick hit and spots in this DJ bit. Last line is real good! Funny to see how similar fixed freestyle has come to other 26 inch style of riding. Thanks for sending this one through dude!
