If you live or pop into Oakland every now and then but have yet to stop by King Kog‘s westside spot you’re surely missing out. With a collection of primo track frames old and new as well as some mighty nice road throwback they’ve definitely got one of the better locations in Northern California. Follow along on a typical Sunday morning starts with a hot cup of joe and getting the shop up and going for a mellow day…
The TURF dudes recently spent the day getting wild at Oakland’s infamous Dragon Park. With plenty of ledges and gaps of all sizes this places is a legit playground for bikes and one of my favorite’s to ride in the East Bay. Some good stuff in the mix but I for sure dig that nose to smith ender most!
If you’ve strolled around Oakland chances are you passed by Montano Velo. Jason and crew run a rad shop with plenty of stuff around to get lost staring at. A pretty good bit of inspiration right here…not to mention the purdy red Broakland hanging from the wall!
The official Harness the Gnarness recap hit the web and it came out too legit! Matt did a hell of a job rolling everyone’s clips into a tasty look at the day. Much more than an edit coming in at 9 minutes with all the goods from each spot. Would be hard to pick favorites from the day but easy to say the Stockton kids threw down more than most. Kick back and let it roll…
A couple weeks back a mob of kids took to the streets of Oakland for Ed Wonka’s “Harness the Gnarness“. A handful of killer street spots dotted around Lake Merritt made for the perfect jam setup. I only grabbed some of the action so this is just a teaser of what’s headed to the Wheel Talk dudes for the real deal…more this week!
Deathgrips : Voila
After taking first at Saturday’s Red Bull Steep Crest the homie Alex Gonzalez was still kicking around the bay yesterday. He rolled around Oakland with us popping wheelies on his super clean BB17 Transfer. At the last spot of the day I snuck off with it for a few photos. A real street machine right here…
Spent the day riding around Oakland today for Wonka;’s Harness the Gnarness jam. A pretty decent turnout with at least 50 fixed freestyle bikes rolling from spot to spot. Here’s a tease of my dude Daniel Torres shooting a pegless double at a few dudes caught in the way. Here’s a couple quick photos and video screens I snagged…more manana.
It’s going down in Oakland this weekend with Ed Wonka’s new fixed freestyle jam Harness the Gnarness. Sure to be a mass of freestyle dudes cruising the streets looking to take home some goodies. Looking forward to a good day in the bay…hit the event page for the details!
Haven’t checked Alberto’s flickr for a minute and spotted some gems today. Oakland representing with some dope shots. Hit his stream for more. This reminds me that I need to grab my freestyle bike and hit the bay again here soon.
New stuff from Mon after his return to his old stomping ground in the bay area. Too many good lines in this one from the ender at those Oakland rails to some snappy goodness at 3rd and army. Definitely some real progression with this one dude. Look for more from him on here once he remembers his password haha.
