With all sorts of projects here and there shop visits took a back burner some time ago. In the past few weeks I’ve ended up in or at one of the many local spots here in Sacramento and it definitely got me to thinking. Expect some fresh profiles in the coming weeks from the handful of shops that keep the Capitol City rollin’ along with a few from fall’s upcoming travels. Pedal Hard will be up first up soon but for now something fancy spotted swinging by there today. ENVE to Custom Phils for Em…DAMN.
With a swarm of people coming in to town for Summer Fix there was definitely a need for some space for dudes to crash. Lucky for a lot of us Vincent of Unknown opened up the floor space in his warehouse for a bunch of us to crash. Despite getting in at 4:00 AM and hitting the road early to Venice Beach for the event it was a good time. While Gnarlos got his bike dialed I snagged a few shots the Unknown U.S. home base. Some cool stuff in the shop and a rad setup in general in the loft like spot. Always rad to see where people spend their days grinding away and shouts to Vinny for letting us hang while we were down there! A few more randos after the click.
Here’s a few shots sent over by Robbie of Pedal Hard sowing you where the shop is at and the end of 2011 and heading into 2012. There’s been a lot of changes for the Sac fixed shop since I did a Shoppin’ spot on them almost a year ago. Tons of new stuff, more stock on hand, plenty of support in events and they’re pushing to make 2012 even fresher! I actually had an office set up in here for the better part of the year…and hopefully with enough coaxing the guys will let me set it up proper again here soon! If you’re in Sac and looking for some sick new or used bike parts they’re probably got it. Seriously. From the new Eighthinch and leader bits to some vintage track and road pieces they just might have what you need. Even if you don’t need anything they’re always down to shoot the shit about anything or get down on some Nintendo haha. Roll by if your in the area or hit up their website to grab some stuff if you’re not. Check that vintage Lockedcog Zombie tee in the pano shot hahahaha. There’s a couple more shots after the click so don’t miss those. Keep at it dudes!
I cant remember the last time i dis a Shoppin’ post so what better time to do it than when Sac gets its own fixed specific shop? I’ve been hanging at the Pedal Hard shop quite a bit lately…they happen to be a block away from Lucky Lefty’s. Ha. The dudes at the shop are real chill and always down for a good time. Walking in the door you definitely get this vibe. Friendly and instantly willing to see what’s up with your bike or just talk shop. This isn’t always the case when you pop into a bike shop so its real refreshing to catch that walking in. If you’re looking to just hang about and enjoy the atmosphere there’s a comfy couch and an original Nintendo where you can get down on some Doctor Mario.
If it’s parts your looking for they’ve got you covered there too. Most of their stock right now is Eighthinch and Leader which will get you just about anything you need. However, they’re getting new stuff in all the time so checking back for new stock is a must. Threads are hanging on the wall as well so if you need a jacket or some flannels for the recent chill you can grab some Ambiguous, Lurk Hard or Constructive Destruction pieces to keep the bite at bay. To carry all your swag out the door you can grab a Chrome bag from their selection and fill ‘er up.
There’s some nice vintage bikes sitting in the shop…really liked the Haro in the photos and the 80’s Bianchi is going to be my new track ride here soon. Pretty sure there was a GT Performer sitting in the back as well. Real cool pieces. Peep all the photos below!
Johns been kind enough to tote me around to a lot of the shops and spots to see while Im here. We’ve actually been to Mishka a few different days for various reasons and today i finally grabbed a few photos to toss up. Also got to roll by the studio and see what goes down behind the scenes at Mishka NYC. Everyone was super chill and friendly and didnt seem to mind me poking around. Theyve been pretty damn generous as well (more on that later). The store on 350 Broadway is way cool…tons of Kaiju and other toys, Ronals Mc D and some other heads, Street Fighter, interesting street traffic, artwork and of course some nice cloth.
