upState.

Swapped out a few parts and added a bit of paint to my Black Label I got from State a bit back. This is the first time riding it sans the stock parts that came with it out of the box. Also the first time I realized the Essor fork on there was a full carbon build! Pretty pumped on how it’s riding now so a new photo set might be in order…

State teamed up with the Macaframa crew for another rad promo this time for the 2015 Undefeated frames. #messlife: Protest!

Posted by: kris

Messenger work in Sacramento means a lot of time running by the court houses and the area around The Capitol most of the day. That pretty much guarantees seeing something like this every day…except today I stopped to take a photograph.

The Fun Bike.

Posted by: kris

After finishing up the review on my State Black Series I pretty much designated it as the “fun” bike. Easy ratio and risers for some skids, basket to haul the beers and now some Revolights have this thing set up as the perfect party bike. More on the lights after some night rides this week!

Reflecting: The Industry.

Posted by: kris

I rarely (if ever?) get personal on here but lately I’ve been feeling pretty grateful and wanting to share. When you spend enough time in the bike industry you’re bound to grow with it so long as you stay interested and hungry. I definitely don’t pay my bills with peanuts and it’s pretty obvious that I love bikes.

Over the past few years I’ve had the opportunity to work with some awesome cycling brands and as a result grow as a human. From working on video projects to writing event articles I’ve started to crave being creative in the industry. As opportunities come up I’m excited to see where I can go with this while painfully reminding myself that the deliveries or a classroom of snotty kids are waiting for me…the latter I’ll always try to avoid. As far as work goes here’s a few things I was stoked to do or help with recently…

State Bicycle Co: 420 Munchies Kit.

Posted by: kris

State hitting it on the head with this 420 kit promo just in time for the “holiday”. Pretty much sums up what happens when you just can’t make it out of the house for that “special” ride. Snack on snacks. Puns aside this is pretty damn good. Swoop the kit here!

State Bicycle Co: Jason Clary Undefeated SF.

Posted by: kris

When it comes to street style on a track bike Jason Clary is one dudes that’s got more than most. He’s been holding it down for years now whipping around SF with dudes like Colin Arlen helping document the good times. They did just that with this new bit for State Bicycle Co. Definitely nailed it.

Tested: State Bicycle Co. Black Label.

Posted by: kris

It’s been a few solid weeks riding around on the State Bicycle Co. Black Label that’s now become a sweet basket bike. After getting this thing built up I put it through the ringer with a solid couple of weeks at work (LOTS of rain), some long days on the trail and running errands around town. Overall I dig the bike and though it wont be my daily rider I’m sure it’ll be one of the regulars. Here’s a little breakdown of why…
