A new bike shop just the web and is shipping worldwide. Right now it looks like you can get your basic needs and then some for freestyle, BMX and other urban cycling stuff. I’m sure they’re going to be expanding as they grow but a new online retailer means more growth so I dig it. They upped a little trailer featuring a familiar face that’s pretty dope. Hit Metro-Bikes for more!
The dudes at Funkyst always come through with some entertaining videos for us. Sick to see how these guys get down at the shop for New Years. Looks like they have a solid thing going over there. Hit up their spot for some dope stuff.
Sooo if you’ve been around at all today you’ve probably noticed a pretty major change in the site. A lot of new things here already and even more to come within the next week or so. The custom store isn’t quite ready yet but as promised you can grab some lockedcog shwag right now. All that’s in there currently is the new shirts and some buttons but there’s a ton more on the way! Peep that for now and be on the lookout for some more soft goods and a couple collabos here soon. Stoked.
Corinne just shot me the press release for the opening of the new Chrome Chicago store. There’s been a bit of buzz about it lately and now its official! Check the official press release below…and peep Chrome of course!
San Francisco, Calif. (May 11, 2011) – Chrome, the world’s leading manufacturer of bike
messenger bags, footwear and urban cycling apparel, is proud to announce their third retail flagship store
coming to Chicago’s Wicker Park neighborhood. The Chicago shop follows in the footsteps of their first
and second shopfronts located in San Francisco and New York City, respectively.
Chrome Chicago opens its doors to all Saturday June 4, 2011 with a continued commitment to bikes and
the people who ride them.
“We’re super excited to open our Chicago shop,” says Chrome Director of Marketing, Matt Sharkey. “Our
shops are more than just a place to get the newest Chrome gear. People can build a custom bag at our
Chrome Customs sewing station, discover new music after hours at our Third Thursdays monthly music
series, discover new artists, hang out and watch bike and skate videos, start or end an alleycat race, or
just stop in to find out about city hot spots. We really see these shops as regional community hubs, and
can’t wait to watch it all unfold in Chicago.”
1529 N. Milwaukee Avenue
Chicago, IL 60622
Store hours: 11am-8pm Monday-Saturday & 11am-6pm Sunday
Eh why not two BBNYC posts in a row? Looks like the Grime boys had a solid turnout for their grand opening. Stoked to see these dudes making a name and keeping it legit.
I like to see stuff like this…especially if its a supplement to photos. A video walk through just gives you a nice perspective to the size an organization of a shop. I actually have one of these i need to get up for iMiNUSD once i can snag some solid editing software again. Ive never seen what the inside of the Soho, London shop Tokyo Fixed Gear looks like…but now we know!
Fixed Gear London just opened up their webstore which is now stocking a couple nice tidbits. The FGL jackets and lockwhip tool are now available online…with more stuff to be popping up in the future. The jackets are real fresh but have made their way around a bit…but ive never seen the tool before. A lockring tool, chain whip and 15mm wrench pulled together into one hardened steel portable bit. Looks solid.
Phil and Kyle have been busting his butt to get this thing up and running…and you can see why. Granted this jussst went up so the store still has about 3/4 stocking left to be done. The best if not the only fixed freestyle specific shop around. Check out the online piece and be on the lookout for some big things from Cultur!
Mission Workshop posted on twitter (@missionworkshop) this morning that they just opened up their retail store in sf. From the photos ive seen this place is looking real sick! If youre in the area make sure you swing by and scope their bags…some of my favs on the market right now.
