It’s been a few months since I came back from my lovely second hometown Sacramento last year…met up with some new and old homies, especially the real dude behind Lockedcog, Kris Fay. I got this set of Knog Pop Duo Bike Lights from him but never really had an opportunity to have them shot! Special thanks to my friend again, Y.C Tang, for running our night time experiment!
The light itself, apparently, is not their brightest model in the category…but I think it’s actually good enough for urban riders like me. It comes with 5 different light modes and the visibility at distances is over 1000 meters. Like other lights of Knog, it comes with the quick release mounting so that you won’t even need 5 seconds to set them up! Overall, as far as I am concerned, this set of lights is great for the rider who commutes in the city. If you are going to climb some hills at night with low light and low visibility, I recommend you to get a higher level, which is the brighter one! Anyway, I’m still stoked to see the outcomes of these photos from my boy!
Few years ago when Musguard just started on Kickstarter looking for backers, I was actually stunned by the simple, smart design of their mud protectors! The saver looks so simple, elegant but it actually hides so many details on the design. Different from Ass Savers, as far as I am concerned, Musguard creates a more functional and flexible system for the commuters.
It’s my pleasure to have this opportunity to test out their products and ride around in Taipei City, see how it goes…and the result is just incredible! Musguard offers you a longer rear protector to save your butt and…unlike saddle attachment, it goes down on your seat tube with a Velcro in order to fasten up, which means it basically fits any kind of bikes! The front one, however, is extremely important for commuters if they ride on a wet road. Sometimes the splash comes from the front wheel and gets your jeans wet and dirty. Musguard offers the front fender to keep you away from those shits! It also comes with a sticky pad for attaching on your down tube safely and stably.
What if you don’t need them for now?….the fenders are rollable so that when you don’t wanna put them on, you can just roll them up on your top tube or store them inside your pouch. It’s just amazing to see that these simple fenders have so many different functions. Even though it’s not easy to set them up at the first time, yet some practices required and you will get used to it! In a nutshell, these sweeties are just off the hook! If you haven’t seen or used them, take a look on their promotion video and hang around on their site for more info!
Been admiring the design of products from Mayhem Fixed for some time and it’s really stoked that this time the dudes over there in Malaysia having me test out some of their proud products! If you are looking around their goodies on Instagram, I’m pretty sure that you would find some great stuff there due to their graphic design and the functionality of bags, pouches, etc. Hip Pouch is perfect and durable enough for urban rider like me to easily organize and carry some essentials! A layer inside allows you to put some delicate belongings such as business cards, stickers, etc. It comes with a belt loop like other pouches for you to fasten it safely. However, some pouches I used before are just flat ones when they’re empty. This one from Mayhem doesn’t lose its exterior look and form when you don’t wanna carry too much stuff!
Their Toolkit Bag is extraordinary too! The bag is made with Polyester canvas, which makes it super durable! What’s more, you can basically carry anything you want, ranging from small things like tire levers to big things such as pumps or wrenches. Just roll them up and you’re good to go like a mobile bike shop! In a nutshell, it’s really stoked to have them lace me up for my ride experience and I believe riders could have a one more good option to choose your pouches, bags, or accessories. It’s no doubt that they will have more awesome products in their future plans and I’m excited to see what comes next! If you’re interested in this brand…go to their Instagram to search more!!!
